CampusInk.ca self trouble-shooting tips
If your cartridge appears to not be working you can perform the following tasks to getter goin'!
Hold the cartridge head on a paper towel for 10 seconds and check to see if there is a full clean print. It should look something like this | not like this |
If there is not a clean print then soak the head in warm water about 3cm high. Do not sink entire cartridge into the water, it may ruin the contacts on the front.
Try going into Microsoft Paint or any painting software, and divide the canvas page into quarters and fill each quarter with RED, BLUE, YELLOW, and BLACK colours. Then print a full page in high quality. This will act as a self cleaning process and show you which colour of the cartridge is not working correctly. ( You will see lines or no colour at all in the section that isn't working).
If the cartridge continues to not work properly, then contact your local refiller for a full refund. Refund granted based on the return of the cartridge for recycling. [back to top]
Cartridge Care Tips!
Make sure that your cartridge does NOT run out Ink completely! As soon as you see signs of an empty cartridge, get it refilled right away, or put it in plastic wrap and seal it in a plastic bag then put it in the fridge until you get it refilled. Cartridge heads are as sensitive as (think of something).
Do not print if you see large streaks in the page! This means that the ink is not coming out completely or you are out of ink. Think of it like this, it's like running a car without oil, and you know how damaging it can be to rev your engine without lubricant. BURNOUT! Same thing with cartridges, it will damage the print head, and then you will be forced to buy a new cartridge at a MUCH higher price!
Try to print at least one page per month just to make sure your cartridge maintains its ink flow and is continuously being used, because even cartridges need lovin' at least once a month.
After you installed your newly refilled cartridge, make sure you print 1-2 pages of colour to make sure the new ink settles.
Try not to throw your cartridge at a wall or other students, we know how stressful school can get sometimes, but throwing or shaking the cartridge may damage the contacts or print heads. [back to top] |
